The history of Hydroplus is directly linked to the systems it develops and constructs. It all started in the late 1980s, when François Lempérière, former president of the French Committee on Large Dams, was looking for a robust, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solution for upgrading dams. His efforts led to patent applications for reliable and innovative fusegate systems that could be used to increase the storage capacity of dams and/or the safety profile with respect to floods.

Hydroplus was founded in 1991 to develop these systems and to market them across the world. Hydroplus is a subsidiary of VINCI Construction Grands Projets, which is itself a division of VINCI Construction, the leader in France and a world major in building and civil engineering. Hydroplus engineers have implemented fusegate systems in five continents; these systems have garnered a reputation for unmatched reliability and effectiveness.
Guiding principles which are embodied in all our projects and activities include respect for the views and values of stakeholders, protection of the environment, and the promotion of schemes which endorse sustainable development.
Hydroplus stands out from competitors thanks to its client-centric approach based on focused consulting and a profound understanding of the stakes and technical challenges of each project. The quality of our work has earned us numerous international prizes and commendations.
